Over the last few years I’ve explored the possibilities offered by the Lottie animation format. In a nutshell, the AirBnB-developed, JSON-based animation file format allows for ultra-low filesize, silky smooth animations for use in-app and on the web.

You can check out my rundown on how I’ve used the Lottie format to bring life to the Headspace in-app experience here. I’ve animated their suite of ambient motion backgrounds, shuttle controls, notifications, and helped to prototype several experimental features.

Right now I’m working with a handful of clients on UI elements and various moments of delight within this amazing, low-footprint format.
